Magellan Health, Inc. seeks a Personal Financial Counselor (PFC) in Minneapolis, MN to provide comprehensive financial counseling to service members and their families at military installations.

The role covers budgeting, education, and presenting DoD-aligned financial management programs, with virtual counseling options as needed. Requirements include a bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination, 3+ years of financial counseling, U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Associate degree + 4 years experience in lieu of bachelor’s acceptable.
• High school diploma + 6 years experience in lieu of bachelor’s acceptable.
• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English.
• If required by the contract, bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
• Must pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for OCI process.
• Must have AFC, CFP, or ChFC certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal financial counseling and management services to service members and families.
• Assists members in establishing spending plans for extended absences.
• Develops and distributes informational financial materials for service members and families.
• Coordinates and conducts Personal Financial Management classes/workshops across the military lifecycle.
• Responds to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
• Uses virtual counseling or secure online modes as needed.
• Communicates with leadership and participates in supervision and training activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
