Job summary

Magellan Health in North Dakota is seeking a Personal Financial Counselor to provide comprehensive counseling services to service members and their families at military installations. Duties include budgeting, education, and referrals, with collaboration with POCs and leadership to ensure program scope and DoD compliance.

Required are 3+ years of experience, a bachelor’s or equivalent, U.S. citizenship with fluent English; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

3+ years of financial counseling experience.
Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English.
If required by contract, bilingual English/Spanish may be required.

Responsibilities

Provides personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families.
Assists service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences.
Develops and makes available informational financial materials to service members and families.
Coordinates, publicizes and provides a wide variety of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops.
Responds to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
Utilizes virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication as needed (secure video/online chat).
Manages duty to warn situations according to DoD protocol.
Communicates with leadership and participates in regular supervision and quality improvement activities.
Participates in regular in-services/training and other contract activities.
