Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation in Sparks, NV is seeking a Test Technician for its Military Fellowship Program. The role offers on-the-job training up to six months and exposure to ISR and aviation systems within the IAS business area.

You will execute testing, analyze results, troubleshoot issues, and mentor fellow technicians while supporting calibration and documentation. A DoD SkillBridge eligible active duty service member is required.

Qualifications

  • Active-duty military status and DoD SkillBridge eligibility.
  • Associate's degree or 1+ years in related field required; 3+ years if no degree.
  • Basic reading of schematics, diagrams, manuals.
  • Experience with laboratory test equipment and calibration.
  • Willing to travel and work in potentially hazardous environments.

These fellowships include up to six months of on-the-job industry training for eligible service members. During this time, participants gain valuable work experience in the civilian sector and build professional networks as they prepare for their transition to full-time civilian work. NOTE: You must be currently serving on active duty to be eligible for this fellowship program. This program is not for veterans who have already separated from the military.The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. Its end-to-end Command, Control, Computers, Communications and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities encompass design, integration, test, certification, ground/flight training and complete logistics support. IAS tailors solutions to customer cost, performance, and schedule requirements and designs to consistently exceed expectations – with an unrivaled record of on time and on (or under) budget deliveries.**Responsibilities:*** Execute complex testing scenarios.* Perform detailed analysis and reporting.* Troubleshoot and resolve advanced issues.* Improve test procedures based on findings.* Mentor junior technicians.* Assist in the development of new testing protocols.* Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of testing equipment.* Document and report anomalies or deviations during testing.* Participate in cross-functional team meetings to discuss test outcomes.**Qualifications You Must Have:*** Currently serving as **ACTIVE** duty military and be eligible to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program* Associate's degree in a related field of study.* 1+ years' experience as a technician or in a related field.* Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 3 years of related experience is required.* Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.* Basic understanding of technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications.* Basic understanding of test concepts and techniques.* General experience with standard laboratory test, calibration, and other measurement equipment.**Qualifications We Prefer:*** Associate's degree with a focus on Electronics.* Familiarity with MIL Standard 810 Test Standards.* Prior experience in a manufacturing environment.* Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.* Certification in Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing.**Essential Functions:*** Perform testing processes on equipment, including the ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly.* Conduct fault isolation and troubleshooting, requiring hand/finger dexterity.* Analyze and document test results, spending significant time on computers.* Work in potentially hazardous or loud environments, following safety protocols.* Ability to travel may be required.* For office roles, capability to work in an office or hybrid environment.This posting will be open for application for a minimum of 5 days and may be extended based on business needs.SNC offers a generous benefit package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, 401(k) with 150% match up to 6%, life insurance, 3 weeks paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and more.**IMPORTANT NOTICE:**This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
