Job summary

US Army Corps of Engineers in Baltimore seeks a senior engineering leader to direct the Military Design Branch program and coordinate complex design projects for military and IIS construction.

You will oversee a multidisciplinary team, manage A/E contracts, provide DoD engineering guidance, and engage with high-level officials on project scope and policy. A PE or Architect license, background check, and 15% travel are required.

Qualifications

• One year of specialized experience including design or project development management.
• Supervision of subordinate professional employees.
• Oversee Architect/Engineer (A/E) contracts, such as award of task orders or modifications, design/drawing reviews.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect license is required.
• Background investigation and security clearance up to TS/SCI.
• Travel (TDY) approx. 15% of time to other duty locations.

Responsibilities

• Directs and coordinates the Military Design Branch program, managing design and development projects for military and IIS construction.
• Oversees a multi-disciplinary engineering branch, managing personnel, establishing performance standards, and selecting subordinates.
• Manages and administers Architect-Engineer (A/E) contracts, including negotiating fees and approving payments.
• Provides expert technical support and engineering advice to the DoD, non-DoD agencies, and other civil authorities on engineering matters.
• Meets with high-level military and civilian managers, A/E firms, and government authorities on project requirements and policy.
• Conducts and reviews complex engineering analyses and prepares technical reports and briefings for higher authorities.
• Ensures all engineering designs, documents, and projects comply with policies, regulations, and quality standards.
