Job summary

St. Joseph Institute for Addiction is seeking a Milieu Manager in Port Matilda, PA to supervise the therapeutic community and lead BHA staff. The role ensures client safety, coordinates daily programming, and collaborates with the nursing team on care plans.

A bachelor’s in behavioral health and 5+ years of experience are required, with CPR and de-escalation training expected. The Milieu Manager will guide program strategies, maintain compliant records, and support admissions and discharges

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health or related field is required.
• Five+ years in behavioral health environment strongly preferred.
• CPR certification and de-escalation training are required.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day unit operations to meet regulatory and clinical standards.
• Supervise staff and ensure client safety across all areas.
• Assist in treatment plan development and program strategy.
• Coordinate daily programming and client orientation to schedules.
• Oversee staffing plans, coverage, and charting to maintain compliance.
• Provide onboarding, supervision, and coaching for BHAs and nursing staff.
• Support admissions/discharges and maintain accurate client records.
• Apply de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention as needed.
• Contribute to rehabilitation programs and teach client wellness strategies.
