Job summary

Forest View Hospital in Grand Rapids seeks a Milieu Specialist to ensure patient safety and support the MHT care role. You will participate in planning, provide observation and role modeling, and mentor staff to sustain continuous, safe patient care.

The ideal candidate holds an associate or bachelor’s degree in health or human services, CPR certification, and five years of mental health experience; you must pass fingerprint checks and demonstrate strong therapeutic relationships with patients,

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in health or human services or related field required.
• Five (5) years prior mental health/psychiatric experience preferred.
• CPR Certification.
• Ability to pass fingerprint check and background.
• Knowledge of patient rights.
• Skills in developing therapeutic relationships with adults, adolescents, children and their families.

Responsibilities

• Primary function is to ensure patient safety.
• Assist planning and oversight of the MHT patient care role and goal of continuous, safe patient care, observation and role modeling.
• Primary training, preceptorship and mentorship of the MHTs across the facility.
