Job summary

Albany Medical College seeks a fellowship-trained Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgeon to join the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and advance its Complex Benign Gynecology Program. The role emphasizes advanced laparoscopic/robotic surgery, multidisciplinary collaboration, and education within an academic health system.

The candidate should have MIGS training, an MD/DO, NY licensure eligibility, and board certification/eligibility in OB/GYN.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Eligibility to obtain New York Medical License.
• Completed Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS) fellowship.

Responsibilities

• Provide evaluation and longitudinal management of patients with complex benign gynecologic conditions (endometriosis, adenomyosis, chronic pelvic pain, complex fibroids).
• Perform advanced minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, including complex laparoscopic and robotic procedures.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary care pathways (imaging, urology, colorectal surgery, gynecologic oncology, etc.).
• Provide inpatient and outpatient care within the complex benign gynecology practice and participate in subspecialty coverage.
• Teach and mentor medical students and residents, including operative education in MIGS.
• Engage in quality improvement, outcomes measurement, research, and scholarly activity.
• Contribute to development of Albany Medical Center's Complex Benign Gynecology Program.
