Job summary

Prime Metal Buildings & Components in Dublin, TX is seeking a Welder to read blueprints and shop drawings and perform welding on prefabbed structural steel for various engineering projects.

You will MIG weld, select tools, and finish welds while adhering to safety protocols and quality standards. This role requires ability to interpret documents, work with minimal supervision, and collaborate with the team to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a 1G Limited Weld Test.
• Prior experience in manufacturing/fabrication shop is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Positive attitude and desire to work as a team player.

Responsibilities

• Study and interpret drawings or blueprints to understand structural welding requirements.
• Perform MIG welding process.
• Select appropriate welding tools and equipment based on the job requirements.
• Operate grinder to prepare and finish welds.
• Operate beam rotators, beam transfers, or other machines as required.
• Operate magnetic drill or other tools as required.
• Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
• Detect and correct defects in welds, such as porosity or incomplete penetration.
• Perform maintenance, troubleshoot repairs, and detect flaws in equipment as needed.
• Adhere to safety protocols and procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
• Collaborate with other team members to achieve production goals.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
