Qualifications

• Ability to stand for long shifts and lift up to 50–75 pounds.
• AWS certification or local trade program completion preferred by many employers.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints: Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and welding symbols.
• Operate equipment: Set up and run MIG welding machines, gas supplies, wire feeds, and grinders.
• Prepare materials: Measure, cut, and clean metal workpieces before joining.
• Weld components: Join parts securely in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Inspect quality: Test and examine completed welds for cracks, flaws, or structural weakness.
• Maintain safety: Follow shop safety rules, wear proper protective gear, and keep the work area clean.
