Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints: Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and welding symbols.
  • Operate equipment: Set up and run MIG welding machines, gas supplies, wire feeds, and grinders.
  • Prepare materials: Measure, cut, and clean metal workpieces before joining.
  • Weld components: Join parts securely in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
  • Inspect quality: Test and examine completed welds for cracks, flaws, or structural weakness.
  • Maintain safety: Follow shop safety rules, wear proper protective gear, and keep the work area clean.

Job description

A MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welder uses specialized machinery to join metal pieces together using a continuous wire feed and shielding gas. Core daily duties include reading blueprints, setting up and adjusting welding equipment, cleaning metal surfaces, and inspecting finished welds for strength and structural defects.

Second Shift Mig Welder hours are Monday through Saturday 4:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m.
