Job summary

Manpower is seeking a Welder for a Brooklyn Park, MN manufacturing client to join the production team. The role focuses on safely laying out, fitting, and welding quality products according to blueprints and procedures.

Candidates should have welding experience or a certified welding program, be able to read fabrication drawings, and pass an AWS-based weld assessment. The shift is 2:00 PM–10:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with up to 12–18 months of employment on assignment.

Qualifications

• Welding experience or completion of a certified trade school/technical degree in welding
• Ability to read fabrication blueprints and engineering drawings
• Pass a weld assessment following AWS standards and complete COPA prior to assessment
• Ability to work at multiple heights and in various positions, including kneeling, squatting, and reaching
• Work in an environment with exposure to welding fumes, noise, and changing temperatures

Responsibilities

• Safely layout, fit-up, and weld quality products following company policies and procedures
• Read and interpret fabrication blueprints and engineering drawings accurately
• MIG Welding (GMAW Pulse)
• Utilizingcutting torches and/or carbon arc (gouging)
• Operate overhead cranes, jib cranes, and hoists to move materials and equipment
• Utilize hand tools such as grinders, chisels, and tip cleaners for fabrication tasks
• Perform visual and x-ray weld assessments to meet AWS certification standards
