Job summary

Sonoco Canada in Hartselle, AL is seeking a Mig Welder (Production Associate) on a Mon-Fri shift from 4:00am to 2:30pm, with overtime as needed. Wage is $25.06/hour. You will weld mild steel, inspect parts, and support safety and quality standards across the production line.

Responsibilities include reading drawings and route sheets, fitting and forming parts, inspecting, grinding, and lifting 30–50 lbs as required. Strong teamwork and a detail‑oriented mindset are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Mig welding test required and ability to pass.
• At least 1 year in a manufacturing/warehouse environment.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and route sheets.

Responsibilities

• Mig weld mild steel to form finished product.
• Read drawings and route sheets to determine requirements.
• Inspect and grind as required; keep work area safe and clean (5S).
• Collaborate with other departments and teams within the plant.
• Maintain pace in a fast-paced environment and ensure quality.
