Job summary

Aerotek in Johnson Creek, WI seeks a MIG Welder / Fabrication Technician to perform MIG and flux core welding on mild steel, read blueprints, and weld in all positions. You will operate brake presses and shears, assemble components, and ensure high-quality welds in a small-shop, team-based environment.

This permanent, on-site role offers a 1st shift (Mon-Thu 5:30am–3:30pm with optional overtime on Fridays), a structured attendance policy, and benefits including a 401(k) with company match, PTO,

Qualifications

• 3+ years of MIG welding experience in a fabrication or similar environment.
• Proficiency in MIG and flux core welding on mild steel and other materials.
• Ability to weld confidently in all positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.
• Hands-on experience with fabrication processes, including cutting, fitting, and assembly.
• Ability to operate fabrication equipment such as brake presses and shears.
• Strong attention to detail to inspect welds and finished products for defects.
• Capable of lifting and moving up to 50 pounds safely.
• Reliability and punctuality with attendance.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and flux core welding on approximately 90% mild steel and 10% other materials, ensuring strong, clean welds.
• Read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings to complete jobs accurately.
• Weld in all positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead) as required.
• Operate fabrication machinery such as brake presses and shears to support production.
• Assemble materials, components, and equipment as needed for welding and fabrication.
• Inspect finished products for defects and ensure weld quality meets standards.
• Assist in loading raw materials and transporting materials on the line.
• Lift and move materials/equipment up to 50 pounds safely.
• Collaborate with teammates to meet production schedules.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
• Adhere to attendance policies to support reliable production.
