Job summary

SPX Technologies is hiring for Welder 1st and 2nd Shift in Mason, Ohio. Join a team that fabricates metal components using MIG welding and collaborates to meet on-time delivery with a focus on safety and quality.

Prior MIG welding experience in a production setting is required, with a High School diploma or equivalent preferred. The role offers opportunities to work on both 1st and 2nd shifts with potential for skill development in blueprint reading, crane operation, and fixture setup.

Qualifications

• 1 year MIG welding in production/manufacturing environment
• Mechanical aptitude
• Basic math skills
• Strong attention to detail and quality, working within precise limits and/or standards of accuracy
• Overhead crane operation
• Self-driven, able to work independently, and as a team
• Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, schematics, work orders and/or assembly sketches
• Coordinate staging and sequencing of parts, productions items, and product components
• Weld to specifications, and out of position, on mild steel and stainless steel including vertical up
• Prepare metals and surfaces for the production process
• Select proper tools, materials, gas ratios, and build fixturing/shipping brackets as needed
• Transfer completed product to next workstation/process using cranes and forklift as needed
• Perform light maintenance on equipment, machines, and other devices used in the normal course of work performed
• Complete tasks as directed with minimum supervision
