Job description



Staffmark is currently seeking an experienced MIG Welder to join a top-tier manufacturing team in Trussville, AL.
This role involves fitting and welding metal parts based on production drawings and specifications using MIG welding techniques. Ideal candidates will be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and committed to producing high-quality work.



Pay: $22-$30 per hour (based on experience)



Shift: 2nd Shift | Monday-Friday | 3:30 PM - 1:00 AM



Responsibilities:



  • Interpret blueprints, shop travelers, and work instructions to complete welds

  • Set appropriate machine parameters based on material type

  • Perform high-quality MIG welds that are strong, clean, and consistent

  • Use fixtures and follow procedures to ensure proper assembly

  • Operate robotic weld cells as assigned

  • Inspect finished welds to confirm alignment with quality standards

  • Maintain welding tools, machines, and workstations

  • Keep work area clean, organized, and free from hazards



Qualifications:



  • Minimum 3 years of welding experience or vocational training in welding

  • Proficient in MIG welding (vertical, flat, overhead) with strong penetration

  • Skilled in reading blueprints, tape measures, angle finders, and AWS symbols

  • Able to use acetylene torches and basic welding tools

  • Strong math skills, including working with metrics and angles

  • Ability to operate forklifts and overhead cranes

  • Comfortable welding in tight or awkward positions, including from ladders

  • Must be able to work full-time, 10-hour shifts, 5 days per week

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
