Description

Position Summary: The MIG Welder will join, fabricate, and repair steel parts using specialized gas metal arc welding techniques and equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable materials by applying appropriate welding techniques.
  • Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to determine the appropriate welding process.
  • Inspect completed welds to ensure structural soundness.
  • Comply with all safety requirements and protocols.
  • Prepare materials and set up for welding devices or robots as needed.
  • Complete apprenticeship or formal training in the area of specialty if required.
  • Support safety and quality programs by following all rules and processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Ability to operate forklifts and cranes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Proficiency with hand tools such as hammer, pliers, screwdriver, wrench, drill, grinder, and bander.
  • Use measuring tools like tape measure, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Ability to convert fractions to decimals and vice versa.
  • Ability to work with metric and English measurements.
  • Provide high-quality work for internal and external customers.
  • Capable of setting up and operating processing machines.
  • Proficient in conversational English.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must pass a MIG welder certification.
