Position: MIG Welder

Location: Richmond, VA

Job Type: Contract to Hire

Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM (Monday - Friday)

Pay Rate: $23.00 - $24.00 (Depending on Experience)

Qualdoc is seeking talented MIG Welders to support an industrial manufacturer in Richmond, VA. Responsibilities include welding various metal and steel fabricated parts using welding equipment, following blueprints and shop drawings, and using tools such as straight edges, squares, and rulers.

Duties:

• Adjust and operate torch, plasma cutter, grinder in accordance with engineering drawings.
• Weld in various positions: vertical, flat, horizontal, overhead.
• Use hand tools to verify weld quality and application.
• Inspect work for defects and ensure conformity to specifications.
• Finish metal components through grinding or sanding.
• Operate material handling equipment and overhead crane/hoist.
• Handle materials responsibly and store properly.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.
• Perform MIG welding and some TIG welding.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience in manufacturing.
• At least 3.5 years of MIG welding experience.
• Ability to read shop drawings, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
• Proficiency with measurement tools like tape measures and rulers.
• Strong math skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with TIG welding is a plus.
• ERP experience, especially JD Edwards, is preferred.
