Job summary

Contract Industrial Tooling (CIT) is seeking a GMAW Fabrication Specialist to lay out, weld, and inspect components on the Richmond, IN shop floor. You will interpret drawings, adjust MIG parameters for quality beads, and document results for downstream operators.

Expect a day shift in a manufacturing environment with emphasis on safety, precision, and consistency. Prior MIG experience and the ability to read weld symbols are required; AWS certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of MIG welding experience or equivalent training.
• Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and weld symbols.
• Strong safety awareness and use of PPE at all times.
• AWS certification is a plus.
• Familiarity with shop tools including calipers and saws.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, position, and secure components; tack and complete welds with GMAW and related processes.
• Dial in equipment settings (voltage, amperage, wire speed, shielding gas) for proper penetration.
• Inspect with micrometers/calipers to verify conformance to specs.
• Maintain logs of production and quality data.
• Follow procedures and report nonconformities to leadership.
