Job summary

Scot Forge in Spring Grove, IL is hiring a Welder - MIG and TIG for 2nd shift. The role involves performing solid welding across GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, and SAW on ferrous and non-ferrous metals per drawings and procedures.

A minimum of 5 years of welding experience without a degree, plus a technical weld certificate or related degree, is expected. We offer competitive hourly pay with a 10% shift premium and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 5 years of welding experience without a welding degree.
• 1 year of metal fabrication experience.
• Technical Weld Certificate or Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Respirator use required for extended periods.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 65 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual, automated, and mechanized welding (GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, SAW).
• Read engineering drawings and welding procedures to determine methods and settings.
• Weld ferrous and non-ferrous metals per instructions.
• Inspect for defects using penetrant or magnetic particle methods.
• Design and build fixtures for repairs on product and tooling.
