Job summary

Maddox Industrial Group (MIG) in Indianapolis, IN is seeking an Estimator to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for cryogenic and mechanical projects. You will analyze blueprints, specs, and bid documents, prepare action plans, and coordinate with project teams through RFQ/RFI processes.

The role requires 3–5+ years of construction estimating experience, proficiency with MS Office, CAD, and Acrobat, and the ability to produce accurate takeoffs and risk assessments.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years’ experience as Construction Estimator.
• Ability to read and understand general construction plans and drawings.
• Experience with MS Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with PDF review/editing software (Acrobat).
• Ability to use CAD software with 3D modeling; create drawings for shop use.

Responsibilities

• Live by safety culture and pursue our goal of zero accidents.
• Interfaces with project management and customers during RFQ/RFI processes.
• Receives and preps bid packages including printing, filing, organizing, and storing.
• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documents to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates; prepare action plans including manpower, equipment, schedule, and submittals.
• Perform accurate material quantity takeoffs and obtain vendor pricing.
• Review bid documents, assess project risks, and prepare bid packages.
• Ensure accuracy of estimating spreadsheets including labor hours, rates, allocations, materials, and buyout services.
• Manage delivery and installation on projects when required.
• Generate project schedules, preferably MS Project.
• Manage customer expectations through communication of capabilities, lead times, and quotes.
• Strategically evaluate with senior management and project managers profit margins, risks, and fit.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
