Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Midwifery or a related field.
• Licensed to practice as a Licensed Midwife in the State of Illinois.
• Two years of work experience in Midwifery.
• Moderate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Good knowledge of program administration methods.
• Good knowledge of use of instructional technology.
• Good knowledge of program accreditation standards and regulatory compliance.
• Good knowledge of curriculum design, assessments and clinical education relating to midwifery.
• Knowledge of applicable higher education software systems.
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Strong administrative and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work within a culturally diverse environment.
• Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in handling sensitive situations.
• Ability to conduct program evaluations and recommend corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Maintains links with clinical instructors and community health centers.
• Ensures the availability of remedial instruction for struggling students.
• Reviews syllabi and lesson plans to ensure curriculum mapping.
• Orients instructors to ensure communication of student learning outcomes.
• Monitors supervised clinical practice experiences for compliance.
• Manages program compliance with accrediting body standards.
• Establishes the clinical rotation schedule and assigns students.
• Meets with potential clinical sites and develops new relationships.
• Writes qualitative evaluations of clinical sites based on evaluations.
