Job summary

Lambda Legal seeks a Regional Development Director in Chicago to lead the Midwest major gifts program, guiding a Major Gifts Officer and an Office Manager & Regional Program Coordinator. You will report to the National Director of Individual Philanthropy and drive a comprehensive major gifts strategy to grow donor revenue.

The role requires 7+ years in major gifts, strong leadership, and expertise in data analytics and CRM. Hybrid work with 30-40% travel supports regional fundraising initiatives.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of success in major gift or planned gift fundraising.
• Experience soliciting six-figure gifts from individuals.
• Proven ability to build and cultivate donor relationships over time.
• Strong communication, writing and relationship-building skills.
• Experience with data analytics and using CRM data to inform strategy.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow a targeted major gifts portfolio across the Midwest region.
• Develop and execute moves management and pipeline strategies.
• Collaborate with National Director and CDO on planned giving opportunities.
• Lead and coach a Major Gifts Officer and an Office Manager & Regional Programs Coordinator.
• Plan and staff fundraising events and manage regional office operations.
