Job summary

Hilcorp Energy Company is seeking an experienced Operations Engineer to provide engineering support to Midstream Operations and Commercial teams. You will analyze operational problems, develop alternatives, and recommend optimal solutions while coordinating with integrity management and project teams.

The role involves hydraulic modeling, process simulations, due diligence on acquisitions, and leading PHAs for facilities, with travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

10 years minimum oil and gas/process engineering experience.
5+ years minimum process experience in a plant environment.
Broad engineering knowledge across civil, electrical, mechanical and process control topics.
Familiar with PSM and process hazard analysis (PHA).
Familiar with process simulation (Promax or equivalent).
Ability to generate heat & material balances for both existing and new designs.
Ability to perform detailed hydraulic modeling for gas and liquids.

Responsibilities

Interact with control room, field operations leadership and field personnel to analyze problems and propose optimal solutions.
Identify opportunities to optimize systems, save costs and maximize operating performance.
Develop scope, cost estimates, and schedules for maintenance, expense, and capital projects.
Coordinate with third-party engineering designs and ensure proper execution of scope of work.
Lead PHAs for processing facilities and contribute to risk mitigation projects.
Perform hydraulic simulations of pipelines transporting oil, NGLs, or natural gas.
