Job summary

Hilcorp Energy Company seeks a senior professional to lead the technical, commercial, and economic evaluation of international upstream opportunities. You will coordinate across reservoir engineering, geology, operations, finance, legal, and external affairs to build integrated, cash-flow rich models.

You will identify value drivers, present investment recommendations to senior management, and oversee reserves booking with auditors. Global travel and complex structuring experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Ten (10) years minimum experience in oil and gas industry in technical positions of increasing responsibility.
• Two (2) years minimum experience in upstream acquisitions and technical evaluations.
• Preferred: two years minimum experience in evaluating international upstream opportunities and incorporating international fiscal and contractual structures into economic models.
• Preferred: two years minimum experience in Investment Banking or Private Equity.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Demonstrated ability to leverage AI and automation tools to improve evaluation workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical, commercial, and economic evaluation of international upstream opportunities.
• Coordinate reservoir engineering, geology, operations, finance, legal, and external affairs for integrated valuation.
• Build and maintain cash flow models with production, costs, taxes, and fiscal terms.
• Identify upside, sensitivities, and value drivers for potential investments.
• Prepare and present evaluations and investment recommendations to senior management.
• Lead reserves booking discussions with external auditors and partners.
• Support negotiations on transaction structures, including data room evaluations.
• Travel internationally for data rooms, meetings, and site diligence.
