Job summary

Devon Energy is seeking a Midstream Automation Engineer to participate in the design, installation and support of control systems for production and related facilities. You will act as a technical resource for automation across facilities to optimize production and operations.

The role requires 3+ years in a related field and a Bachelor's in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Travel to field locations (10–15%) is expected, with work spanning indoors and outdoors and adherence to safety

Qualifications

Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs, Rockwell Logix 5000, Emerson ROC, and Red Lion HMI systems to support automation projects.
Experience with 120V, 480V and 24VDC electrical systems.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
Self-starter, able to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
Diagnose and resolve complex control-system issues.

Responsibilities

Provide engineering support and guidance to end users and plant personnel for existing control systems and HMIs.
Participate in the design phase of new projects, including PHA, design documents and drawings, and PLC/HMI programming.
Demonstrate expert knowledge of PLC, HMI and Flow Computer software and hardware.
Troubleshoot equipment problems and perform complex tests on control systems.
Maintain and develop interface between field automation and SCADA systems.
Travel 10%–15% for mandatory meetings and field visits.
