Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Detroit, MI is seeking a Registered Nurse for Medical Surgical-Oncology to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to cancer patients and their families during critical moments.

You will apply the full nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—to develop individualized care plans, coordinate care, and mentor patients and families through their treatment journey.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred and licensed in Michigan.
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required.
• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
• Health care provider certification (BCLS) is required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process to assess needs, develop plans, and evaluate outcomes.
• Provide direct patient care and delegate tasks while supervising care and documenting thoroughly.
• Educate patients and families about diagnosis, treatment options, side effects, and self-care strategies.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the health care team for coordinated, patient-centered care.
• Identify variances from patient goals and participate in developing solutions to optimize care.
• Demonstrate clinical knowledge and analytical thinking to tailor oncology interventions.
• Embrace continuous learning in oncology nursing and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
