Job description

Mid-Level Mechanical Engineer (Mechanical Engineer II)

Openings: 2
Location: Las Colinas, TX
Department: Mechanical Engineering
Reports To: Director of Mechanical Engineering

Compensation: $85,000 – $117,000, based on experience and technical capability.

Role Snapshot

This is a true mid-level engineering role. Not entry-level. Not senior. You’ll work on technically complex, mission-critical projects such as airports and data centers, along with retrofit work in existing buildings where creative problem-solving is required. Engineers in this role are trusted to interact directly with clients and vendors and are given autonomy without being thrown into situations they can’t support.

If you want real engineering work, real ownership, and exposure that actually builds your career, this role delivers.

Position Overview

The Mid-Level Mechanical Engineer supports the design and delivery of complex mechanical systems across new construction and retrofit projects. The role blends HVAC system design, Revit-based production, multidisciplinary coordination, and construction support. Engineers are expected to work independently while collaborating closely with senior engineers and project teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design HVAC and mechanical systems for mission-critical, commercial, government, and infrastructure projects
  • Perform heating, cooling, ventilation, exhaust, and energy calculations
  • Design ductwork, hydronic, and fuel oil systems in accordance with firm standards
  • Size ductwork and piping using established engineering guidelines
  • Develop construction documents primarily in Revit
  • Coordinate designs with architectural, civil, electrical, and technology disciplines
  • Work directly with clients and equipment vendors
  • Support creative engineering solutions for retrofit projects in existing buildings
  • Review submittals, RFIs, and change orders
  • Perform site visits, field observations, and punch list documentation
  • Assist with project specifications and basis-of-design documentation
  • Support and mentor junior engineers and designers
  • Identify design risks early and communicate effectively with the project team
