Job summary

ASM Research, An Accenture Federal Services Company, is seeking a middleware and systems administration professional in San Antonio to install, configure, and maintain JBoss EAP, Tomcat, and Apache servers; develop Ansible playbooks for deployment and automation; ensure high availability and secure baselines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• 4-6 years IT, systems administration or related field.
• Experience with JBoss EAP, Java, and Apache HTTP Server configuration and troubleshooting.
• Ansible playbooks for middleware admin tasks.
• Experience with deployment, security best practices, and system hardening.
• Experience with data source configuration and LDAP authentication.
• Proficiency with Splunk and AppDynamics for performance monitoring.
• CI/CD and IaC tools (Ansible, Terraform).
• Linux command line and Bash scripting.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and administer JBoss Enterprise Application Server (EAP), Tomcat, Apache HTTP Server 2.x
• Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks for application deployment, configuration management, patching, and automation
• Deploy applications, enforce secure baseline configurations, and ensure high availability, continuous monitoring, and system hardening
• Oversee JAVA Application Service installations and upgrades, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and patching
• Create, configure, and maintain Tomcat servers across environments for deployments
• Configure and monitor data sources, JDBC Connection Pools, and JMS Messaging
• Collaborate with development teams to deploy patches and fixes for vulnerabilities on on-prem and cloud servers
• Participate in monthly maintenance activities and release cycles, including EAP patching and domain/URL verification
• Develop and enhance F5 load balancer health checks for app server readiness
• Monitor and tune performance using Splunk and AppDynamics to manage JBoss domains
