Job summary

Dunhill Government Solutions is seeking a Middleware Administrator II to support a federal civilian agency program in San Antonio, TX. This onsite role includes intermittent telework on a long-term program.

Qualifications

• US citizenship and ability to obtain Tier 2/2R public trust.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4–6 years IT or systems administration experience.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting JBoss EAP, Java and Apache HTTP Server.
• Ansible playbook development and middleware administration.
• Experience deploying applications with security best practices and hardening.
• Experience with data sources and LDAP authentication.
• Proficient in performance tuning/monitoring with Splunk and AppDynamics.
• CI/CD tooling experience including pipeline setup and troubleshooting.
• Onsite in San Antonio, TX with intermittent telework. Travel is not required.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure and administer JBoss EAP, Tomcat and Apache HTTP Server 2.x.
• Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks for deployment and automation.
• Deploy apps, enforce secure configurations and support HA and monitoring.
• Oversee Java app services, performance monitoring, troubleshooting and patching.
• Manage Tomcat servers and deployments across environments.
• Configure data sources, JDBC pools and JMS.
• Work with developers to patch vulnerabilities on on-prem and cloud servers.
• Participate in monthly maintenance and release cycles.

Job description

Dunhill Government Solutions is hiring a Middleware Administrator II to support a federal civilian agency program in San Antonio, TX. This is an onsite role with intermittent telework on a long-term program.

Responsibilities:

• Install, configure and administer JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP), Tomcat and Apache HTTP Server 2.x.
• Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks for application deployment, configuration management, patching and operational automation.
• Deploy applications, enforce secure baseline configurations, and support high availability, continuous monitoring and system hardening.
• Oversee Java application service installations and upgrades, performance monitoring, troubleshooting and patching.
• Create, configure and maintain Tomcat servers across all environments, supporting configuration and application deployments.
• Configure and monitor data sources, JDBC connection pools and JMS messaging.
• Work with development teams to deploy patches and fixes for vulnerabilities on on-premise and cloud servers.
• Participate in monthly maintenance activities and release cycles, including JBoss EAP patching, application updates and verification of domains and URLs.
• Develop and enhance F5 load balancer health checks for application server readiness and critical application URLs.
• Monitor and tune performance using tools such as Splunk and AppDynamics to manage JBoss server domains.
• Perform root cause analysis and diagnostics on production systems, and create and maintain systems documentation and user guides.

Requirements:

• U.S. citizenship, and the ability to obtain and maintain a Tier 2 / 2R (moderate risk) public trust investigation.
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 4 to 6 years of experience in information technology, systems administration or another IT-related field.
• Experience with JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP), Java and Apache HTTP Server configuration, installation and troubleshooting.
• Ansible playbook development and administration for middleware administration tasks.
• Experience in application deployment, security best practices and system hardening.
• Experience with data source configuration and LDAP authentication.
• Proficiency in performance tuning and monitoring using Splunk and AppDynamics.
• CI/CD tooling experience, including pipeline setup and troubleshooting.
• Onsite in San Antonio, TX with intermittent telework. Travel is not required.

Compensation:

$74,100 to $89,122 per year, full time, 40 hours per week.
