Figure, an AI robotics company headquartered in San Jose, CA, is seeking a Middleware Software Intern for Winter 2027 to help build the core platform that keeps our robot running and enables apps to exchange vast message volumes on a 24/7 basis. This internship targets students in their final year or recent graduates who expect to complete their degree by end of 2026 (or the following year).

Figure is an AI robotics company developing autonomous general-purpose humanoid robots. The goal of the company is to ship humanoid robots with human level intelligence. Its robots are engineered to perform a variety of tasks in the home and commercial markets. Figure is headquartered in San Jose, CA.

We’re based in San Jose, CA and require 5 days/week of in-office collaboration.

We’re looking for a Middleware Software Intern for Winter 2027 to help build out the core platform infrastructure that keeps our robot running. How do you enable apps on a robot to exchange 320,000,000 messages per hour, 24 hours a day, without fail? How do you efficiently capture and store all of that data? And how do you give developers the tools to visualize and interact with it? These are the types of challenges you’ll be working on.

This internship is designed for students in their final year of an undergraduate or master’s program, as well as recent graduates who are on track to complete their degree by the end of 2026 (or the following year).

The US base pay range for this full-time position is $40.00 to $45.00 per hour.

The pay offered for this position may vary based on several individual factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include additional components/benefits depending on the specific role. This information will be shared if an employment offer is extended.
