Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a senior IT professional to manage middleware for critical banking platforms. You will handle server installation, configuration, performance tuning, and end-to-end support for WebSphere, jBoss, Tomcat, and related technologies.

Responsibilities include ensuring production stability, applying patches, and delivering compliant, high-availability middleware solutions across the SDLC. Strong scripting, networking, and DevOps experience are required.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years IT experience with middleware and enterprise platforms.
  • Experience with Java/J2EE, WebSphere, Tomcat, Apache, and middleware tooling.
  • Knowledge of scripting (shell, Python, Perl) and basic networking concepts.
  • Familiarity with release/deploy tools such as Ansible, Bitbucket, and XLR.

Responsibilities

  • Provide middleware administration for banking platforms end-to-end, including setup, patching, and tuning.
  • Ensure production stability and risk management for middleware environments.
  • Collaborate with application teams, testing teams, and vendors across the SDLC.
  • Design and implement high-availability middleware topology and deployment templates.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide middleware administration duties for critical banking platforms, end‑to‑end, including WebSphere, jBoss, Tomcat, Apache, IBM HTTP Server, and WXS (extreme scale cache) Delivering middleware enterprise projects and regulatory legislative initiatives Ensuring production stability from an ongoing support standpoint Ensuring middleware platforms are patched with the most current version of software, helping to manage risk to the customer Providing Middleware Server administration which includes server installation, configuration, performance tuning and production support Working with customers (application teams and/or testing teams) on a daily basis and providing Middleware and Java support Create, maintain and support the application deployment templates Serving as a J2EE architect and making recommendations on J2EE best practices in application development Designing Middleware infrastructure and topology design for high availability and failover capability All solutions must meet all Policy, Baseline, and Standards along with business requirements Providing technical consultation to other team members and their supported areas Communicating with business partners at an enterprise level Interfacing with internal customers and external vendors for consultation at various points of the software development life cycle (SDLC Executing production changes for Bank integrated and regulatory releases with precision
Required Qualifications:

Information Technology professional with 5+ years of experience with the following:

  • Apache, J2EE, Java, JBoss, WebSphere Application Server, Tomcat BPM products: Appian Linux Java/Container Framework Knowledge Knowledge of shell, Python, and Perl scripting Understanding of Network infrastructure (HTTP/S, TCP/IP, TLS,DNS, Load‑balancers, firewalls, proxies, B2B links) Experience with Release Deploy Tools: Ansible, Ansible Tower, XLR, BitBucket Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong attention to detail
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with WebSphere Extreme Scale, BPM Middleware Administration DevOps experience BMC Truesight Server Automation, Harman mDeliver, Ansible Tower, Terraform.

  • Provides subject matter expertise and consulting services on a range of technologies and assists Technical Analysts and Infrastructure Engineers to ensure that technology solutions comply with enterprise system design and engineering standards Assists with translating business requirements into technical definitions, reference models, blueprints and playbooks for deployment in compliance with architecture standards and policies Assists in the evaluation of reference models, blueprints and playbooks to ensure they are fit for purpose Develops software solutions to address manual and repeatable work or inefficient processes Conducts on‑site evaluations of third‑party products being considered for firm adoption Promotes an inclusive and healthy working environment and helps to resolve organizational impediments/blockers Contributes to the creation/selection of functional and non‑functional product evaluation requirements within and across domains

This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan.
