Job summary

Christian Care Communities in Middletown, KY, is hiring an Activities Assistant to enhance residents' physical, mental, and psycho-social wellbeing through engaging programs and compassionate service.

The role supports the Activity Director, plans and conducts activities, assists with transportation, documentation, and charting, and upholds regulatory standards to ensure quality elder care.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree from a 2-year college or technical
• 1 year related experience
• 2 years’ experience in a social or recreational program in a health care setting
• Certified Nurse Aide certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Assists in planning, scheduling, conducting and supervising activities/events for residents which provide entertainment, intercommunication, exercises, relaxation, intellectual development, and utilization of their talents
• Assists the Activity Director in planning related to the interests of the Facility and the services and needs of the residents and families
• Encourages residents’ religious participation, coordinates with Chaplain, and provides spiritual material to residents at their request
• Arranges transportation to outside events/activities when necessary
• Assists in planning and performing activities for room-bound residents including writing letters, running errands, reading, and securing material for residents with sensory and hearing deficiencies
• Encourages resident participation in activities when practical
• Responsible for the understanding of the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) including MDS Version 3.0, CAA process, and RAI Utilization Guidelines
• Assures appropriate charting documentation of activity related forms and assessments
• Personifies outstanding customer service to co-workers, clients and vendors by acting as a subject matter resource in a timely, considerate and friendly manner

The Activities Assistant is responsible for providing services that meet the interests and the physical, mental,

and psycho-social wellbeing of each resident to promote and maintain the residents’ sense of usefulness to self

and others while maintaining compliance with all applicable laws, regulatory and organizational standards.

• 1. Assists in planning, scheduling, conducting and supervising activities/events for residents which provide entertainment, intercommunication, exercises, relaxation, intellectual development, and utilization of their talents
• 2. Assists the Activity Director in the community the planning related to the interests of the Facility and the services and needs of the residents and families

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Preferred Education: Associate’s degree from a 2-year college or technical

Required Experience: 1 year related experience

Preferred Experience: 2 years’ experience in a social or recreational program

setting, at least one of which was in a /resident

activity program in a health care setting

Preferred Certification or Licensures: Certified Nurse Aid
