Waverly Community Schools seeks a Middle School Coed Wrestling Head Coach to lead the wrestling program this season, starting in August 2026. The role emphasizes goal setting, safety, and life-skill development, with collaboration across school athletics and parents.

The coach will implement the season plan, promote sportsmanship, and maintain strong relationships with students and the Waverly community, including administration and staff.

Qualifications

• Two years of coaching experience as head or assistant wrestling coach or equivalent.
• First Aid and CPR certification required before first day of coaching.
• Online concussion training certificate required before first day of coaching.

Responsibilities

• Develop and communicate clear goals for the team and individuals throughout tryouts and the season.
• Maintain open, honest communication with students, parents, coaches, and Athletic Director.
• Develop knowledge of best coaching practices and apply them.
• Supervise all aspects of a wrestling program and enforce conduct codes.
• Create a safe, healthy environment for student-athletes and connect athletics to life skills.
