Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Prior wrestling coaching experience preferred.
• Knowledge of wrestling rules and regulations.
• CPR, AED and First Aid certified.
• Concussion training certification required.
• Ability to work with students, parents and the community.
• Follows district policies, rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Instructs and teaches skill sets and techniques for individual and team achievement.
• Organizes a system for encouraging students to try out for the team.
• Develops training programs and practice schedules.
• Travels with student athletes on school bus to away games.
• Covers sporting events as scheduled with the Athletic Director.
• Maintains a safe environment for student athletes.
• Assists in maintaining high academic standards for student athletes.
• Works with other head athletic coaches to operate a balanced athletic program.
• Ensures medical examinations are completed before practices begin.
• Assists Athletic Director and Principal in hiring assistant coaches.
• Advises on equipment and facility maintenance.
• Supervises and evaluates all assistant coaches.
