Job summary

Portage Public Schools' Portage West Middle School is seeking a Middle School Wrestling Coach for the 2026-27 season to oversee all facets of the wrestling program and lead the West team.

The coach will directly coach the West Middle School Wrestling Team, set the direction for the team, and coordinate program inventory with the Athletic Coordinator while fostering positive relationships with students and the community.

Qualifications

• Previous coaching experience is required.
• Proven ability to handle administrative responsibilities of coaching.
• Ability to communicate and foster positive relationships with students, other coaches, administrators, news media, boosters, and parents.
• Well organized, detail oriented, with high expectations and integrity.
• Able to attract students to the program and retain them.
• Willingness to understand and follow policies (PWMS, PPS, MHSAA).
• Must undergo a background check and fingerprinting.
