Job summary

Olympia School District is seeking an Assistant Coach for middle school volleyball to provide education, leadership, and supervision for the assigned team. You will coordinate practices, support the head coach, and engage with athletes, families and school staff to promote sportsmanship and growth.

Responsibilities include maintaining safety, enforcing rules, and attending league meetings. Prior coaching experience at the middle school level is preferred, with current First Aid/CPR and

Qualifications

Experience coaching at middle school level or higher.
Ability to communicate with students, parents, staff and community.
Knowledge of middle school sports philosophy, rules and safety procedures.
Current First Aid/CPR and WIAA concussion education required before first practice.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership and organization for the assigned sport as directed.
Supervise athletes and managers before, during, and after practices and events.
Maintain knowledge of applicable rules and regulations.
Ensure equipment and facilities are safe and properly maintained.
Report unsafe conditions and injuries promptly.
Promote safety procedures to all participants.
Attend league meetings related to the sport.
Support other personnel as needed.
Participate in meetings for information and credentialing.
