Job summary

Miami Valley School seeks a passionate Middle School Visual Arts Teacher to lead a vibrant, immersive program. The role includes teaching 4 courses per semester in middle school and 1–2 upper school electives, with a focus on drawing, painting, printmaking, or sculpture.

You will collaborate with a world-class team, develop new courses, and support a culture of global citizenship and inclusive curricula within a dynamic Dayton community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Fine Art or art education.
• Experience teaching in a studio with middle school students preferred.
• Strong computer literacy with Google Suite and SIS usage.
• Desire to work with pre-teen and teenage students in an experiential setting.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach core visual arts concepts and skills to middle school students (grades 6-8).
• Collaborate with lower and upper school arts faculty to maintain program fluidity.
• Create and install rotating student exhibitions.
• Regularly update students and families on progress and performance.
• Maintain RamsConnect and Canvas according to guidelines.
• Advise a group of 8-12 middle school students.
• Lead/Co-lead an Immersion program in January.
• Develop and propose new courses annually, including elective units.
