Middle School Visual Arts Teacher (2025-2026)

Match Charter Public School is a free, high-performing charter public school in Boston. We are a PreK-12 school serving 1,250 students. Position: Middle School Visual Arts Teacher (2025-2026 Opportunity)

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a full-time Visual Arts Teacher who can help continue to build the arts program at Match Middle School. The position is based at Match’s middle school campus on 215 Forest Hills St. in Jamaica Plain and entails designing and delivering a curriculum for middle school students who will have Visual Arts classes during the regular school day.

The salary range for teachers new to Match is $61,812-98,899 and is determined by the candidate’s prior years of full-time teaching experience. Match offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes 90% coverage of employee health insurance costs and up to $150/month in loan repayment assistance.

OVERVIEW OF ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Visual Arts teacher will:

• Design curriculum and teach Visual Arts classes
• Teach classes at multiple grade levels
• Assist with duties to uphold a positive and safe school culture
• Participate in regular professional development, coaching sessions, and faculty meetings
• Perform other duties assigned as a member of the school faculty

QUALIFICATIONS

• Has at least 1-3 years prior experience as a Visual Arts teacher, ideally with middle school students
• Meets teacher certification requirements set by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, or can meet the certification requirements within a year of date of hire
• Articulates a clear vision for a middle school Visual Arts curriculum
• Demonstrates skill in designing and delivering lessons
• Demonstrates skill in building effective relationships with students and colleagues
• Holds a deep belief that all students can and will succeed
• Possesses a desire to continually improve their practice as an educator by taking and implementing feedback
