Job summary

Pleasant Hill R-III School District is seeking a Middle School Track Coach for the 2026-2027 season at Pleasant Hill Middle School. The successful candidate will coach, develop athletes, and support athletic programs in alignment with school goals.

Candidates should have Track & Field coaching experience, be able to communicate with students and parents, meet MSHSAA assistant coaching requirements, and hold 60 college credit hours with substitute teacher certification.

Qualifications

• Track & Field coaching experience at middle school level.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and staff.
• MSHSAA Assistant Coaching Requirements adherence; substitute teacher certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coaching middle school Track as assigned and assisting with all athletes in the program.
• Assist in planning, organizing and operating efficient practices.
• Assist with the preparation of middle school track events (home and away).
• Attend and assist off-season workouts, camps and activities as deemed necessary.
• Communicate progress and needs to students and parents.

Coaching Description: Pleasant Hill Middle School is seeking candidates for the position of TrackCoach for the 2026-2027 season.

The successful candidate at Pleasant Hill Middle School for this position will…

• Present and maintain a high level of professionalism as an educational leader and assistant coach while demonstrating an exemplary level of integrity within the program.
• Have Track & Field coaching experience
• Be proficient in methods of instruction involving competitive running skills
• Be an educator within the Pleasant Hill School District - preferred but not required
• Meet MSHSAA Assistant Coaching Requirements according to the guidelines presented in the MSHSAA handbook (sec 3.1)
• Be certified as a substitute teacher and must have completed 60 credit hours from an accredited institution.
• The successful candidate will fulfill the duties as follows...

Duties

• Coaching middle school Track as assigned assisting with all athletes within the program
• Assist in program events and practices (items include high school and middle school home events)
• Assist in planning, organizing and operating efficient practices
• Assist with the preparation middle school track events (home & away)
• Attend and assist off-season workouts, camps and activities as deemed necessary
• Be able to effectively communicate with students/athletes regarding their progress, performance and critical needs to improve
• Be able to effectively communicate with parents
