Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join our team at Tawas Area Middle School as a Title I Teacher. This full-time position is focused on supporting students who require additional academic assistance to succeed in their educational journey. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a positive learning environment, implementing effective instructional strategies, and collaborating with colleagues and families to enhance student achievement.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized and small group instructional plans tailored to meet the diverse needs of Title I students.
  • Assess student progress regularly and adjust instructional strategies based on data and individual student needs.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate Title I services into the general education curriculum.
  • Provide targeted interventions in reading, writing, and mathematics to support student learning and growth.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and ways to support learning at home.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance instructional practices and stay current with educational trends.
  • Maintain accurate records of student assessments, progress, and interventions.
  • Work collaboratively with school staff, including special education teachers, counselors, and administrators, to support student success.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Title I programs and initiatives within the school.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Valid teaching certification for the state of Michigan.
  • Experience working with middle school students, preferably in a Title I setting.
  • Strong knowledge of effective instructional strategies and interventions for struggling learners.
  • Ability to analyze student data and use it to inform instructional decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment for all students.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and tools to enhance instruction and student engagement.
