Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; CBEST and teaching credential preferred.
• Minimum two years teaching experience preferred.
• Must relate professionally with students, parents, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements engaging and challenging lesson plans aligned to curriculum standards.
• Provides enriching homework assignments per policy; 30 minutes per subject for middle school.
• Promotes school philosophy and fosters a positive working environment for students and staff.
• Maintains a disciplined, safe classroom; enforces middle school rules consistently.
• Organizes and uses LMS to post homework and communicate with students and parents.
• Inspires learning through age-appropriate technology integration.
• Keeps Head of School informed about students needing special attention or behavioral issues.
• Assesses student learning regularly and maintains progress records for reports.
• Attends meetings and professional development and applies learnings in class.
• Maintains classroom, books, and supplies; informs administration of needs.
• Treats students with dignity and respect fostering self-discipline.
• Demonstrates teaching strategies for English Language Learners.
• Follows Fairmont dress code and professional conduct.
• Arrives on time, plans creative lessons, and returns graded work promptly.
• Maintains confidentiality and works to meet individual student needs.
• Provides minimum one hour of planned Academic Assistance per week.
• Supervises after-school detention, study hall, and field trips as needed.
• Familiar with emergency procedures and reinforces them with students.
• Performs other duties as directed by campus administration.
