Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age (WIAA regulation).
  • Minimum of two years of experience as an assistant coach.
  • Knowledge of effective coaching practices/techniques for the identified sport.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be evaluated.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises student athletes to promote effective student learning through participation in athletic activities.
  • Plans, develops, and implements an effective program for the identified sport to prepare athletes both physically and mentally.
  • Prepares and conducts practice sessions that teach basic sport skills and promote good sportsmanship.
  • Coordinates facility use in conjunction with MSA Coordinator.
  • Communicates effectively with athletes, parents, officials and school administrators.
  • Maintains equipment and records; tracks issuance dates and returns.
  • Makes written recommendations to the MSA Coordinator regarding program and facilities.
  • Completes supervisor requests to achieve department goals and objectives.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
21+ age requirement
Two years assistant coach experience
Coaching knowledge
