Job summary

Rocky Mountain Prep seeks a dedicated Mild/Moderate Special Education Teacher to deliver inclusive, data-driven instruction and manage IEPs for students with diverse needs. You will work on-site in Colorado, delivering push-in and pull-out support while collaborating with general education staff and families.

The role emphasizes equity, cultural responsiveness, and fidelity in implementing accommodations, modifications, and behavior supports aligned to students’ goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree (any subject).
• Subject matter expertise demonstrated by either a results record or a content-specific degree.
• Current Colorado teaching license with special education generalist (5-21) and/or special education specialist endorsement.
• Special Education teachers must be certified in Colorado.
• Pass a background check.
• Demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States.
• Preference for minimum two years of lead teaching experience.
• Experience with ABC data collection and case management.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage IEPs in compliance with IDEA timelines.
• Conduct FBAs and create, monitor, and adjust BIPs.
• Ensure accurate progress monitoring and maintain required documentation.
• Deliver instruction via push-in co-teaching in classes of 28–32 students and pull-out groups of 6–8.
• Implement intervention programs like Lexia Core5, RAP 95, PLL, and Zearn.
• Coordinate with general education curricula including Bridges and Amplify.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to ensure accommodations and behavior supports are implemented.
• Coach paraprofessionals in academic, behavioral, and adaptive interventions.
