Out of the classroom and with the support of school administrators, the Middle School Special Education Teacher will manage administrative/regulatory aspects of the Special Education

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree is required; a master's degree is preferred.
• A commitment to every student and the mission of Excel Academy Charter Schools.

Responsibilities

• Teach daily instructional support lessons to students on caseload.
• Serve as an inclusion teacher to support learners with high needs.
• Differentiate curriculum and create effective accommodations.
• Align work with school goals for student achievement.
• Write IEPs for new students and revise existing ones.
• Coordinate outsourced Special Education testing and manage consultants.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations for Special Education.
• Maintain regular communication with families and document progress.
• Create CPR/CAP documents to ensure DOE compliance.
• Enforce classroom systems and maintain productive routines.
• Communicate student progress to families and serve as homeroom teacher.
• Contribute as a active member of the Excel Community.
