Job summary

Egg Harbor Township Schools is seeking a Special Education Teacher - POR/ICR to provide instructional services to students with IEPs at Fernwood Middle School. The role reports to the Building Principal and Supervisor of Special Education.

Qualifications include NJ Teacher of the Handicapped or TO SD certification, content area certification or middle school endorsement, and knowledge of NJSLS. Proficiency in English, strong classroom management, and collaboration with CST are required.

Qualifications

• Required NJ Teacher of the Handicapped or Special Education Certification (or CEAS/CE).
• Content Area Certification or Middle School Endorsement.
• Knowledge of NJSLS.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to implement and follow IEPs and differentiate instruction.
• Ability to collaborate with CST members and involve paraprofessionals.

Responsibilities

• Create and follow daily lesson plans with differentiated teaching strategies.
• Implement best practices and engaging instructional methods.
• Collaborate with CST to ensure appropriate student services are provided.
• Maintain a safe and conducive classroom environment.
• Communicate with parents/guardians and prepare materials for activities.
• Guide students in daily living skills and self-advocacy.
