Job summary

Milestones Day School in Waltham, MA seeks a Special Education Case Manager/Mentor Teacher for the Middle School to support students with diverse needs. You will manage a caseload, model effective teaching, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.

This full-time role emphasizes leadership, student advocacy, and ongoing family collaboration. Requirements include MA Moderate Disabilities licensure (PreK-8 or 5-12) or Severe Disabilities, a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) and teaching

Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts Licensure Moderate Disabilities (pk-8) or (5-12) OR Severe Disabilities - All, is REQUIRED
• Bachelor's Degree Required; Masters strongly preferred
• Teaching experience in education and/or human services is required
• Mentor, Academic Coaching of peers, and/or Leadership experience preferred
• At least 3 year(s) of relevant experience preferred
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required
• Teaching Certification (Required)

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of students and communicate with families as needed.
• Provide guidance and role model appropriate teaching practices for the teaching team.
• Lead and mentor teachers; support grade-level team and Milestones goals.
• Coordinate with classroom and therapeutic staff to plan appropriate programs for each student.
• Review and help write IEP sections and monitor progress for students.
• Engage families in school events and maintain regular contact with teams.
