Middle School Spanish Teacher (2025-2026)

Key School seeks a Middle School Spanish Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. Primary responsibilities include teaching four sections of Middle School Spanish (grades 5-8) and being a seventh grade Advisor. This teacher would also offer a club or activity during half of the school year.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Teach four sections of Middle School Spanish in grades 5-8
  • Advise a group of 12-14 students in seventh grade
  • Sponsor a club or activity for half of the school year
  • Supervise lunch and recess activities three times per week
  • Collaborate with World Language colleagues in the Middle School and other divisions

The Ideal Candidate Possesses the Following Characteristics:

  • Educational background in Spanish and experience teaching Spanish at the Elementary and Middle School levels (grades 5-8)

  • The capacity to build strong relationships and engage students, parents, staff, and colleagues
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to establish trust and credibility
  • Familiarity with learning management systems such as Google Classroom and the ability to create and deliver engaging multimedia content using various digital tools

Qualifications:

  • Two to three years of classroom teaching experience
  • Fluency and expertise in conversational and written Spanish
  • Strong initiative and organizational skills

The ability to navigate stairs as part of daily routines; mobility around a mid-size campus with uneven pavement. The ability to maneuver as necessary within a regular classroom; and the ability to rearrange furniture for activities is occasionally required.

Key School follows a Faculty Equity Scale that recognizes direct years of experience that correlate to the steps on the scale. The salary range for this position is $46,820-$88,305 and is based upon several factors that include, but not limited to, the candidate’s year of work experience, education and skills. There are additional opportunities on campus for coaching and various stipends, as well.

All candidates for teaching positions should be familiar with learning management systems such as Seesaw and Google Classroom and have the ability to create and deliver engaging multimedia content using a variety of digital tools. Key is a Google Workspace for Education school. Candidates should be proficient in using Google applications, have a solid understanding of cloud-based storage and file-sharing platforms, and efficiently manage email and scheduling using Gmail and Google Calendar. They should be proficient in virtual communication tools such as Zoom or Google meet and have basic troubleshooting skills to resolve common technical issues that may arise in the classroom.

Work Schedule/Travel:

Occasionally, there may be business and school functions that will require your presence to work flexible hours, including nights and/or weekends and travel outside of Annapolis.
