Job summary

The Plum Borough School District is seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School Softball Head Coach to support our softball program and inspire student-athletes both on and off the field. This role emphasizes teamwork, respect, and personal growth while promoting excellence in athletics and academics.

The Head Coach will develop and implement a comprehensive program, mentor student-athletes, and work with staff to organize practices and games.

Qualifications

• Previous coaching experience in interscholastic sport preferred.
• Strong understanding of game strategy, fundamentals, and player development.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, able to mentor student-athletes.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction, leadership, supervision, and guidance to the team.
• Organize practices, games, and skill development sessions with staff.
• Coordinate camps for feeder programs.
• Maintain communication with players, staff, and families on program values and expectations.
• Ensure compliance with WPIAL and PIAA rules and regulations, board policies, and state codes.
• Represent Plum Borough School District and the Borough of Plum with professionalism and integrity.
• Serve as a positive role model for students and advocate for the community.
• Maintain all required clearances and mandated training.
• Report to the Varsity Head Coach and Athletic Director.
• Collaborate with parents and booster groups to boost program involvement.
