Grand Isle Supervisory Union's Alburgh Community & Education Center in Alburgh, VT is seeking a Middle School Social Studies Teacher for a long-term substitute position starting immediately. Salary is per Master Agreement: $50,650 - $96,550 based on education and experience.

The successful candidate will instruct grades 5-8 using the approved curriculum, differentiate instruction, collaborate with staff in PLCs, and communicate with families about student progress and goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
• Experience teaching Social Studies at the Middle School Level.
• Valid teaching license or eligible for licensure in Vermont.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students in 5th–8th grade Social Studies using the approved curriculum.
• Plan and lead instruction with intervention to support reading, writing and literacy.
• Collaborate with colleagues in PLCs and school initiatives.
• Use data to plan instruction and personalize learning.
• Maintain records of student progress and communicate with families.

Education

Bachelor’s degree or higher with proper teacher licensure
