• Minimum a Bachelor's degree in History or Social Science.
• DESE Teaching license- Social Studies (8-12).
• Ability to handle multitude of varying and complex issues.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to use technology effectively.

Responsibilities

• Instructs students in citizenship and basic subject matter as specified in state laws, frameworks and District policies.
• Develops clear and appropriate lesson plans and identifies instructional materials on a weekly basis (minimum).
• Selects, designs and organizes objectives, strategies and materials for teaching social studies, and incorporates research findings in the instructional program.
• Provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil.
• Maintains standards of behavior to achieve a positive learning atmosphere.
• Evaluates students' academic and social growth and communicates progress to students and parents.
• Uses data to improve the learning and instruction process.
• Collaborates with staff to identify student needs and develop assessments.
• Participates in curriculum development and faculty programs.
